A friend bought my daughter the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics set for her second birthday. It is a very cute toy and she really liked it. I was shocked when she put the R in and it began to sing “R says er, R says er.” R does not say er. I put the R away so she could still play with it, but I am very disappointed. Leap Frog has an excellent reputation, and I cannot believe they would make this big of an error. Especially when you consider the point of the toy is to teach letter/sound correspondence.

I ordered this toy and for some reason it was never delivered to me, but Amazon claimed I returned it saying I didn’t want it….I am not sure what happened, but I was very disappointed with the situation. Amazon corrected the mistake so I hope all is well.

Its been over a month and still haven’t got it yet. It said Shipping estimate for these items: July 1, 2006

Delivery estimate: July 6, 2006 – July 8, 2006 … Well, today is July 31st. Everything else I ordered that day has already came. Some only a couple days later. Amazon is pretty fast with delivery, but even though I ordered through Amazon the company this product came (or is still coming) from was/is Imaginarium. I would be wary of this place. Maybe after I actually get the order I can write a review of how well I (or my child) likes it, until then, I can only tell you about the horrible delivery.

We were very excited by this toy — or at least, by the idea of the toy. We have friends who bought a similar product from a different company and they love theirs. But when we got ours in the mail and set it up on the frig… it didn’t work. No matter what letter we put into the box, the machine said ‘E’ the sound this letter makes is ‘E’. Worse than useless…. Downright waste of money and brain power. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!
