I gave 5 stars to this game only because I know the products’ quality. The store already earned five stars, in my opinion, simply because I ordered this 3 days ago and already have it. It is a Christmas gift so the items haven’t been used yet, but I am confident that they deserve the five star rating. Will post more after Christmas.

This review is not so much for the specific game “Super Chicks,” but for the DIDJ game system in whole. My daughter is 5 years old and in preschool, however she just missed the kindergarten cut-off by three days. The DIDJ system is labeled for 6 year olds and up. I bought the DIDJ handheld at Best Buy and they didn’t have a very good selection of games, but I thought I would be able to find some at the various stores that sell them in my area. I have searched numerous stores and checked on-line and discovered that the lowest level of games is 1st grade. When my daughter is older I really think this system will be great for her, but for now, it’s too advanced. I wish I had known the type and level of games before I bought this system, I would have waited a year. For now, it’s more frustrating than fun for her.

The lessons are great. Our 5 yr old is now doing 3rd grade math, up to 3 digits. The downside is, the directions are printed, and she can’t read them. I wish that the directions were spoken, but on the other end, it has gotten her wanting to learn to read (and she has started down that path through Dick & Jane books).
Edit: Downgrading this game. It frustrates her. It could have simply included a voice to read the text out to avoid it, instead we have to sit next to her to read the text. Then, the instructions are not complete for tasks.

this game teaches your child math. While your child thinks they are playing games, they are in fact learning at the same time.

I bought this game as a starter game for my 5 year old’s Didj. She is able to do the math but has not figured out exactly how to play the game. Her older siblings are helping her and I believe she will grow into this game and system which was my goal.
